JEDS Driving School: Website design for one of South London’s largest and longest-running driving schools

The Client

JEDS Driving School is a family-run business with over 30 years’ experience and a reputation for helping learners of all ages and confidence levels across South London and parts of Surrey. With a team of 35 DVSA-approved instructors, they offer automatic and manual driving lessons, intensive courses, female instructors, Pass Plus, and ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) training.

JEDS teaches a wide range of students: teens, adult learners, nervous drivers, first-time passers and those training to become instructors themselves. Their coverage is extensive, spanning more than 80 local areas from Brixton to Banstead, and from Croydon to Kingston and beyond.

This was the third website we’ve created for JEDS, as they understand that keeping their online presence up-to-date is essential in a fast-moving digital world.

The Challenge

JEDS’s previous website was no longer delivering the results they needed. It was built several years ago, before mobile browsing overtook desktop, and lacked the functionality and clarity today’s users expect.

They needed a fresh website that would:

  • Prioritise mobile-first design and user experience

  • Be easy to update via CMS

  • Improve on-page SEO and reflect their wide geographic coverage

  • Support and promote their JEDS Young Driver (JYD) programme, including online booking

  • Showcase their excellent pass rates and strong customer feedback

  • Offer better conversion paths with clear CTAs and enquiry points

  • Reflect their status as a trusted, established brand

Our Solution

We built a modern, responsive Squarespace website, customised with CSS for improved visual design and layout flexibility. The site was structured around JEDS’s key strengths: experience, scale, local coverage, pass rates, and trust.

Key features included:

  • Mobile-first design to ensure a seamless experience on phones and tablets

  • Online booking system for their JYD courses, with early bird pricing options and e-commerce integration

  • Clear CTAs throughout to guide visitors to booking or enquiry

  • Instructor bios to build trust and showcase the team

  • Google Reviews integration for authentic, up-to-date testimonials

  • Instagram feed to highlight recent test passers

  • Improved content structure and copywriting: Cahoot created keyword-rich, SEO-optimised content highlighting all service areas and including localised SEO features like maps and location lists

  • Analytics and performance: Setup of Squarespace and Google Analytics for full tracking, along with form data and order history stored centrally for the client

  • Full support: Including domain, email, hosting, and regular site updates

The Outcome

The new website delivered immediate and tangible improvements:

  • Increased enquiries from prospective learners, especially for JYD events thanks to a clearer booking system and incentives
