Who we are
We’re a small, smart and friendly creative agency...
We work with all kinds of businesses, but we specialise in partnering with schools, churches and charities and our focus is on helping small organisations to make a big impact. Although we’re based in and around London, we don’t have a swanky set of offices – everyone on the Cahoot team works from home. Which means that your money pays for your project, not our overheads.
Between us we’ve got many years of experience in design, digital and marketing work. And if there’s anything your project requires that we can’t do ourselves, we’ve got a loyal army of specialist freelancers ready to lend a hand.
Meet the team
Mark
Project manager
Mark is the one who makes sure all our projects run smoothly and stay on schedule, so if you work with us you’ll definitely meet him at some point. As one of the more, well, senior members of the team, he’s got the longest and most varied career of us all. He began his working life in photographic printing for ads and fashion, then moved on to doing creative artwork at some big ad agencies, followed by many years in studio management at places like Face Creative, Reader's Digest and Black Pig. He’s also trained companies in the use of database and creative software, before finally setting up Cahoot.
Rob
Creative designer
Rob’s another face you’ll definitely become familiar with, as he often takes the lead on design projects. He’s our main creator of beautiful things, whether it’s a stylish logo, an innovative website design, or a creative idea for a newsletter or email. Although he had a slightly more techy start to his career, with a first job programming in HTML, the main chunk of his working life was spent with Reader's Digest (which is where he met Cahoot co-conspirator Mark). In his 13 years there he was the lead designer on a wide range of projects including direct mail campaigns, brochures, emails and web design and development.
Tony
Techno guru
Tony is the one who makes sure that all the fantastic digital stuff we create actually works. His work is mostly behind the scenes, so you might not get to meet him – but everything that your new website or digital platform is capable of will be down to him. His interest in shiny technology began long long ago, with a few IBM PC’s and a handful of screwdrivers. Since then he’s consulted for ITV, the Guardian, News International and many more, specialising in important but complicated-sounding things like email migration and publishing workflow.
Jenny
Marketer
Whether it’s a one-off project or a long-term relationship, Jenny will make sure your digital content is fresh, relevant and shareable. She’s great at helping you really connect with your audience and produce materials that inspire action. She started her career in the travel industry, which we’re all envious of as it gave her the chance to cross the Namib Desert and explore the Cloud Forests of Ecuador. Of course she did then have to write about her adventures, developing engaging campaigns and helping her clients create and share exciting content. Now she’s enjoying working a bit closer to home, focusing her skills on marketing in education and leisure.
Beth
Brand developer
Brand sounds like a scary and complicated word, but Beth’s work is really very simple - she can help you develop a clear idea of who you are as an organisation and figure out how you want to talk about yourselves. Which means that the materials we create for you won’t just look and sound good – they’ll really say something about your personality and ethos, drawing people in and inspiring them. Beth’s been doing this kind of work for over a decade, starting her career as an in-house marketer for a charity and ending up as a Communications Director, before moving on to brand consultancy in the education and non-profit sector.
Mat
Copywriter
Mat’s our creative content genius. He's brilliant at getting into the mindset of the audience he’s writing for and always knows how to inform, engage and motivate them – so he's great at helping you to find just the right words for your project. He’s got experience writing for both digital and print, and is just as happy working on longer content like websites and blogs as he is penning snappy headlines for ads and campaigns. In his long and word-filled career he’s worked mainly in direct marketing and integrated advertising, writing for a wide variety of organisations including big names brands like Virgin Media, Magners, Sky and Honda.
Andy
Videographer
Andy can help you bring your vision and ethos to life on your website or social media with simple, fun and high-quality videos. His years as a journalist for the BBC have made him a great visual storyteller and he loves to get to know you and your organisation so he can show people the best of who you are and what you do. In total he's been with the BBC for 13 years, travelling the world to report, film and take photographs. He’s also filmed promotional and music videos and been the lead videographer at a number of high-profile events, as well as filming at smaller and more personal occasions like birthdays and weddings.
Anthony
Photographer
One of the best ways to make your materials eye-catching and appealing is with high-quality images – and for that, Anthony is our man. From simple headshots of your team to on-location pictures of your organisation in action, Anthony is great at capturing the essence of people and places. He got his first camera at the age of seven and hasn’t put one down since. His approach and style are very natural and he’s got years of experience behind the lens, having run his own successful photography business for over 13 years.
